The campaign occurred after the conclusion of World War II during the Chinese Civil War in Southwestern China. The Communist counterinsurgency campaign was ultimately successful. ==Strategies== The Nationalists forces found themselves in a precarious dilemma while conducting this campaign against the Communist forces stemming from complex politico-military situation in the region.
